Pantone Color of the Year 2015 – Marsala

Pantone announced the Color of the Year for 2015 – Marsala
I’m not sure what to think. Do ya like it, love it, or what?

Welcome to the brand new What Goes With What blog! What a great way to start off the fun. Those of you who have followed Pink Chalk Studio’s blog have seen many What Goes With What blog posts. I usually take a designer collection of fabric and provide the solid fabrics which coordinate. Today I’m working with Marsala, the color of 2015.

Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth. Leatrice Eiseman Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute

  1. I think this is supremely helpful and hope to hear more – about prints too. Love your idea for a new blog, and I’ll be mentioning it in my blog post today, and following along!

    • Thank you Debbie! Your support is amazing. I’m just in the beginning stages right now but I plan to feature designer collections with color suggestions in the near future. xoxo ~Diana

  2. Hi Diana! I’m happy I found your NEW great blog from Debbie. I just heard about Pantone’s colour for the next year and my first reaction was, oh no. But I taste everything before saying I don’t like. So, I think this will be challenging for many quilters but also it will be very interesting to see how it looks when mixed with other colours. I love happy, bright colours so I try to imagine how to make the Marsala lightful and happy with turquoise, lime green, ice cream colours, lots of white … this will be fun! I’m looking for your next colourful posts! x Teje

    • Hi jibberishdesigns – I agree, it would be nice to have a lighter shade of the suggested colors. My hope is to find the closest match from the top manufacturers. So happy you stopped by. ~Diana

      • Hi Diana,
Have you confirmed the color matches with the manufacturers? Our guild is planning a pantone color of the year challenge and I am hoping to match up the color myself to purchase the fabric. Thanks!
